Two mannequins modelling wedding dresses at Messrs Heelas' fashion parade.
Messrs. Heelas (now John Lewis) held a fashion parade in the gown salon of their Broad Street department store on the 17 March 1938 in order to show off their Spring collection. Daffodils, grass and ferns were arranged throughout giving a definite air of the new season. Among other items, dresses, suits, coats and hats were shown in the parade.
This photograph was published in the Berkshire Chronicle on 18 March 1938.
