The Kingsbury Beast

Small gilt bronze decorative beast-head mount, nicknamed the 'Kingsbury Beast', from the Saxon palace at Old Windsor.

This is one of 63 copper alloy objects found during excavations of the site by Brian Hope-Taylor between 1953 and 1958. Others included pins, buckles and a sword guard.
