Factory chimney demolition

Demolition experts used 6Ib of explosive charge to neatly topple the 160-feet cake factory chimney into the cellars.

This demolition was part of continuing redevelopment of the factory site on the north bank of the River Kennet after production moved to Liverpool in 1976. This image featured in Associated News, the company's staff newsletter.
