This photograph was taken at the National Final of the 'Catermind' competition organised by the Industrial Catering Association and sponsored by Associated Biscuits Catering Sales, which was held at Kodak House, Hemel Hempstead, for catering students from around the country. No doubt Magnus ('I've started so I'll finish') Magnusson used his trade-mark tense delivery to introduce rounds such as the 'History of Custard Creams 1920 to 1975'. The type-written note on the back of this photo quotes Brian Kenway, Catering Sales Manager, as saying 'The competition is gaining in importance and stature each year'.
