The Queen Mother at Huntley and Palmers, Reading (three of seven)
Photograph from Reading Chronicle Collection - October 1955
The Queen Mother was photographed touring Huntley and Palmers, where she was shown around by R.H.R. Palmer. She met the directors, workers, and pensioners associated with the company, and had a tour of the factory, where she was presented with a replica of her wedding cake. Mr Jack Bryant demonstrated the icing of cakes to the Queen Mother. She visited Reading to open the new Technical College, and had lunch in the Town Hall.
